On November 19, 2024, Vodafone Ukraine acquired licenses for 4G development in the 1945-1950/2135-2140 MHz and 2575-2610 MHz frequency bands during a radio spectrum auction. The total cost of the licenses amounts to 988,433,500 UAH, marking another significant investment in Ukraine's critical infrastructure.
“This auction not only provided us with essential resources—a continuous 20 MHz band in 2100 MHz and 35 MHz in 2600 MHz—but also represents nearly a billion hryvnias invested in the development of critical infrastructure”, - said Olga Ustinova, CEO of Vodafone Ukraine.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Vodafone invested 12.66 billion UAH into Ukraine and remains committed to sustaining this level of support to create the best 4G network in the country.
The newly acquired frequencies will enhance 4G service quality by increasing network capacity by up to 30%, enabling a gradual transition from 3G to LTE and the rollout of VoLTE technology for better voice call quality. Additionally, spectrum aggregation in the 1800 MHz and 2100 MHz bands will boost internet speeds.
