Vodafone Ukraine completed the purchase of Freenet

The Vodafone Ukraine group announces the completion of the acquisition of Freenet company, which provides fixed іnternet access services under the «О₃» brand. The purchase of the company is part of the Vodafone Ukraine's strategy to develop convergent services and tariffs.

‘Our belief is that fixed business of Vodafone Ukraine should develop in order to serve more clients, providing high-speed internet services, based among others on GPON (gigabit optical network) technology,’ said Olga Ustynova, CEO of Vodafone Ukraine.

Freenet LLC is a national broadband Internet access provider, offering services under the «О₃» trademark in the city of Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhya, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Kyiv, Rivne, Khmelnytskyi and Chernihiv regions. The company was founded and has been operating in the market since 2008. It builds its network on FTTx and GPON technologies using 10 and 40 gigabit fiber optic lines and modern equipment from leading manufacturers. This allows to provide internet access channel at speeds up to 1 Gbit/s. The company's clients base exceeds 163,000 subscribers.
