The Vodafone Gigabit Net network is energy-efficient thanks to GPON technology, which allows you to provide service during power outages for up to 100 hours.

If you have a charged laptop/tablet/phone and you only need Wi-Fi Internet, it is enough to have either a power bank (with a fast charging function) or a low-power uninterruptible power supply (400 VA), to which you need to connect the router and the optical terminal provided when connecting. When using a power bank, you will additionally need two special USB - DC wires with a voltage increase to 12 V. Such a solution will be enough for 4-6 hours of operation. If you also need to power your laptop, connect an 800 VA uninterruptible power supply to the equipment, which has 3 outlets.

To connect high-speed optical Internet, it is necessary to install a subscriber terminal. We provide this equipment to our customers without any additional fee. To get maximum speed, the router must be gigabit.

Instructions for setting up routers:

A modern fiber optic network for apartments is designed using GPON technology. The data transfer speed using this technology reaches up to 1 Gbit/s (≈1,000 Mbit/s). This is ten times faster than regular home Internet (100 Mbit/s).

The technology can guarantee a reliable signal and high access speed at any time of the day, provided that there is network equipment that supports data transfer at speeds up to 1,000 Mbit/s:

• routers;

• smartphones, tablets, laptops, computers and other devices.

The "Pause" service allows you to temporarily suspend Internet access when you need it. This means that you will not pay the full monthly tariff for the period when the "Pause" service is connected.

How to get maximum speed?

To get the maximum speed (up to 1000 Mbps) and a stable signal, you need to connect the cable to a desktop PC or laptop with a gigabit network card.

It is also necessary to have a gigabit Wi-Fi router that will provide the necessary speed up to 1 000 Mbps. A router can be purchased or rented.

What affects speed?

It is worth remembering that the speed of the Internet via cable will always be higher than via Wi-Fi. Also, Internet via cable can guarantee a stable signal. These are the physical characteristics of the technology.

There are a number of requirements to get high speed via Wi-Fi:

• use the 5 GHz frequency range;

• protocol – 802.11 ac and newer;

• check that there are no performance limitations on the part of the client router and PC (network adapter, built-in Wi-Fi module, operating system of your gadget);

• absence of obstacles (for example, electrical appliances nearby and reinforced concrete walls - muffle the signal).

Slow internet with good connection speed. What shall I do?

If testing did not reveal any problems with data transfer speed, but slow Internet is interfering with your network, try the following methods:

1) Restart your devices

Restarting your modem, router, or computer can solve the problem with low Internet speed. After rebooting, the device's RAM is cleared, drivers and systems are restarted. Slow Internet can be a consequence of increased load on the channel occupied by your wireless network. When rebooting, the router will automatically switch to a freer channel.

2) Check if other sites are working

Failures or technical work on the server where the site is hosted are slowing down its work. If only one portal is loading poorly, and the rest are working stably, try accessing it later.

3) Check your router's bandwidth

Low Internet speed can be a consequence of low bandwidth on your router. Sometimes it can be adjusted in the settings.

If your router is not designed to handle large amounts of information, you will have to reduce the load on it or purchase a more powerful model.

4) Clear cookies

Cookies are temporary files that your computer stores to speed up the loading of Internet pages. If there are too many of them, this can complicate the operation of the device.

Keep in mind that deleting cookies will result in you having to re-enter your logins and passwords on most sites.

5) Check network card drivers

Low Internet speed on a laptop during normal operation of a stationary computer indicates a problem with the device itself or its components. In particular, with the network card or its software (driver). In modern operating systems, driver updates occur automatically. Make sure you have the latest version of network software installed.

6) Scan your computer for viruses

Low Internet speed can be the result of viruses and malware. To rule this out, run a device scan.

7) Check your DNS settings

A DNS server is a computer that stores information about the correspondence between a website's domain name and its numeric address. Before opening a website, your browser contacts such a server. Slow internet speed can be a result of high load on your DNS.

8) Turn off power saving mode

If your computer has power saving mode enabled, it can affect its performance and cause slow internet speed.

Windows:

1. Download the program to your computer: WinMTR: https://sourceforge.net/projects/winmtr/

2. Collect statistics only when you are experiencing issues. If you simply run the program, it will not detect anything and the result will be inconclusive.

• If the internet starts disconnecting — launch the program.

• After 20 minutes — stop the program.

3. In the Host field, enter google.com or 216.58.215.78 (if the problem is with a specific resource — enter its URL or IP) and click Start.

4. After the time has passed, click Stop and then Export TEXT, or Copy Text to Clipboard and send us this data to the email address: support@vegatele.com. Please include your account number in the email subject.

MacOS:

1. Open Terminal (Mac command line interface): you can use Spotlight or find it in the "Applications" -> "Utilities" folder.

2. In the terminal, enter the commands to install MTR:

• /bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/HEAD/install.sh

• brew install mtr

• sudo cp -R /usr/local/Cellar/mtr/0.95/sbin/ /usr/local/bin

3. To run MTR, enter the command sudo mtr and the URL or IP of the resource you’re having issues with.

If the issue is with all resources — enter sudo mtr and a commonly known resource (youtube.com, google.com, ukr.net, etc.)

• sudo — grants administrator rights, mtr — runs the required program.

Example: sudo mtr google.com

This command will launch MTR to trace the route to "google.com".

4. Collect statistics only when you observe an issue. If you simply launch the program — it will not detect anything and the result will be inconclusive.

• If the internet starts disconnecting — launch the program.

• After 20 minutes — stop the program by pressing Ctrl + C in the terminal window.

Linux:

1. Install MTR.

• Open the terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T)

• Type: sudo apt install mtr

2. Launch WinMTR with the command sudo mtr and the URL or IP of the resource you’re having trouble with.

If the issue is with all resources — enter sudo mtr and a commonly known resource (youtube.com, google.com, ukr.net, etc.)

Example: sudo mtr google.com

3. To stop the program, press the “Pause” button.
