How to use the service?

CheCheck if your SIM and smartphone are 4G/LTE-compatible (eSIM/uSIM)ck if your smartphone supports VoLTE (eSIM/uSIM)

You can verify this with a free USSD request *222# . Within 5 minutes, you’ll receive an SMS with information on whether your smartphone and your card support 4G network.

Please note that VoLTE can only be activated on 4G/LTE-compatible smartphones.

Activate VoLTE on your smartphone while in a VoLTE coverage area

To start using VoLTE, you need to activate the corresponding service using the USSD request *888*7# or in the MyVodafone app .

You also need to set up your smartphone following the instructions below in the FAQ.

Wait for the activation message and check the activation

You will receive an SMS confirming that your activation request has been accepted. After a few minutes, you will receive confirmation that the service has been activated.

You can check whether the service is activated using the USSD request *888*71#.

Once activated, enable VoLTE in your smartphone settings. After the activation in your phone menu, you will receive an SMS: “Congratulations! Now you have access to the free VoLTE service...”, and can start using it.

On Android smartphones, VoLTE will be displayed during a call.

On Apple smartphones (iOS), VoLTE will not be explicitly shown, but you can verify this by:

ensuring the LTE network icon stays visible during the call
Going to Settings → General → About Device, tap Operator until the IMS status Voice and SMS appears.
in the My app Vodafone → go to the Expenses section, select the Free filter, and you will see a list of calls made using VoLTE (data is updated within an hour).

Log in to the My Vodafone app. In the Available Services section, find VoLTE & VoWiFi
Tap Activate and confirm by OK

Where VoLTE is available?

VoLTE is available across Ukraine, where there is Vodafone Ukraine LTE coverage, except for the territories where state authorities temporarily do not exercise their powers or exercise them in part.

How to make calls via VoLTE?

To use VoLTE, you must be within 4G/LTE coverage during the call and in the area where VoLTE is available.

How to activate VoLTE on your smartphone?

Before activation, make sure you are in a 4G/LTE coverage area.

Activating VoLTE on iPhone (iOS)

Check your iOS version. It should be 17.0 or higher. Go to Settings → General → About Device → iOS Version. If an update is available, install it.
Enable VoLTE:

- for multiple SIMs: Settings → Cellular Data → Voice & Data → LTE → Enable VoLTE;

- for single SIM or eSIM: Settings → Cellular → Data Options → Voice & Data → LTE → Enable VoLTE.

Check IMS activation: Settings → General → About Device → tap Operator several times, the status should appear as Voice and SMS.

Activating VoLTE on Android

Make sure your smartphone has the latest firmware version installed.
Enable VoLTE: Settings → Activations → Mobile Networks → VoLTE Calls.

The steps in the settings may vary slightly depending on your smartphone model.

Wait for the SMS confirming the service activation. If VoLTE was previously activated, the SMS should have arrived earlier - there is no need to wait for it. If the message did not arrive, simply restart your smartphone.

After that, you may continue making calls as usual — but with better VoLTE call quality.

Do I need to pay extra for VoLTE calls?

No. The technology is provided at no additional cost. Calls are charged according to your tariff plan.

Does VoLTE work while roaming?

No. This service is available only in Ukraine within the operator’s network coverage (except for the territories where state authorities temporarily do not exercise their powers or exercise them in part).

Please note: Before traveling abroad, turn VoLTE Calls off in your phone settings to avoid potential issues with voice calls. You can turn it back on after returning to Ukraine.

Will I be able to call subscribers who do not have VoLTE enabled, using VoLTE?

Yes, of course. Your service will work even if the subscriber you are calling does not have this service enabled.

Can I use VoLTE and VoWiFi at the same time?

Yes. For uninterrupted communication, we recommend activating both technologies on your smartphone.

If VoLTE and VoWiFi are active simultaneously, the call will be received based on the set priority:

Apple (iOS): primarily via VoLTE (VoLTE → VoWiFi).

Android: primarily via VoWiFi (VoWiFi → VoLTE) or as you set in your smartphone settings.

What should I do if VoLTE is not working?

If VoLTE is not working, make sure that:

Your smartphone is an official device and intended for use in Ukraine.
Your smartphone and SIM card are 4G-compatible (check *222# ).
Your smartphone supports VoLTE and is within its coverage area.
Your smartphone firmware is updated to the latest version.
The service that enables VoLTE is activated. Check with the USSD request: *888*71#
VoLTE calls are enabled in your smartphone settings.

If all of the above conditions are met and VoLTE still does not work:

Restart your smartphone.
Contact Vodafone’s support at 111 or via the chat in My Vodafone.
