4G is a high-speed mobile Internet that provides data transfer speed 5-7 times faster than 3G. With 4G, you get stable mobile communications and the ability to download the content quickly.

For example, an HD video loads instantly and a high-quality movie takes only 10–15 minutes to download.

5G technology delivers peak speeds of over 1 Gbps and minimal latency, ensuring stable service even under heavy network load. With 5G, customers can:

• Play online games that require fast and reliable connections;

• Seamlessly use cloud services and VR/AR applications.

Vodafone is testing 5G without the need for additional subscriptions: 5G traffic is billed according to existing plans, just like 4G/LTE traffic, and all customers with 5G-compatible SIM cards and smartphones can automatically access the network within the coverage area.

4G/5G requires a USIM SIM card. Vodafone switched to such SIM cards back in 2016, so your SIM may already support 4G/5G. You can check it by calling *222#.

• Buy a starter pack with a new SIM at the Vodafone online store (free delivery to Nova Poshta).

• Call 222 once you receive the card and the operator will help you replace it.

• Replace the SIM at a Vodafone store. From February 1, 2026, to January 31, 2028, replacing your old SIM with a new 4G/5G-compatible USIM is free of charge.

As of the end of 2024, Vodafone 4G is available in over 16,000 settlements, covering 93% of Ukraine’s population across 20 regions.

The 5G network is available in test mode in Lviv, covering the city’s historic center, surrounding neighborhoods, and the Lviv Polytechnic University campus. Soon, 5G coverage will also be available at the Main Railway Station.

Subject to obtaining the necessary permits, 5G coverage is planned to expand to other cities in Ukraine, including the town of Borodianka in the Kyiv region, as well as Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Odesa.

Yes. Everything will be transferred to your new SIM — except for the contacts stored on your old card. To keep them, we recommend saving your contacts to your device or creating a backup in advance. If needed, check your device manufacturer’s instructions.
